ECC has provided coaching to senior executives, directors and board members. This has increasingly taken the form of facilitating days where the whole team can get together following initial one-to-one sessions with each board member, where the coach sensitively establishes the dynamics of the team. The ‘away day’ provides an ideal forum for creative strategic planning in the context of improved team behaviours. The role of the coach is to help the board to maximise its collective performance, often encouraging them to address “the elephant in the corner of the room”!
