Geraldine is a management development professional with 13 years experience in line management positions at the Ford Motor Company and The Burton Group (now The Arcadia Group and Debenhams ).
An MBA and 5 years in the marketing department of Ford of Britain provide an invaluable complement to her management development track record. Her management development experience began by consulting for large organisations such as the Automobile Association, Granada Leisure and IBM. She then moved back to the client side and spent 6 years at the Burton Group where, latterly she was Head of Management Development with responsibility for the development of the top 300 senior executives. It was at this juncture that she realised that her forte was in working on a one to one basis with senior executives helping to make them more effective in their roles. To this end she set up her own practice specialising in executive coaching in 1994. The market for one to one coaching in the UK at that time was relatively underdeveloped and Geraldine introduced the practice of executive coaching to many organisations with whom she still works. In addition to coaching directors on an individual basis, Geraldine has run workshops to enhance managers' coaching skills and coach-the-coach programmes for HR practitioners. As the market for executive coaching has expanded, Geraldine has been able to extend her range of clients to include a range of industries and sectors both in the private and not for profit sector. Her clients range from Transport for London, AOL and Clear Channel Entertainment to JP Morgan, Barclays, Axa, Lincoln and Legal and General. She has worked with most of the UK High Street retailers (current assignments include Sainsbury's, The Body Shop International and Arcadia plc) drawing on her retail experience, and has worked with Renault UK, Avis Europe and Lex Vehicle Leasing, capitalising on her stint at the Ford Motor Company. Geraldine was a non-executive director for Morgan Sindall plc for 9 years, chairing both the remuneration and corporate social responsibility committees. Geraldine is a member of the Association for Coaching. |
